How do I write RTL (right-to-left) text in Gmail?

Up until Gmail switched to it's 2nd version, I used Gmail RTL to add right-to-left sections in my e-mails. However, that stopped working.

Now I use CTRL-SHIFT-X to switch direction, which works in Firefox 3 (untested in earlier versions.)

I saw on a site that this feature isn't always on. To turn it on, do the following:

1. open about:config in Firefox
2. set bidi.browser.ui to true.
