I've got a PCI card in my computer that I can't seem to identify, any ideas?

Thanks to some happy conincidence, a standard method of querying the PCI bus came into being. Under Linux you have lspci from which you can get a general idea of what kind of is hooked into the PCI. If you want the full vendor strings and approximated abilities/definitions of the devices try using lspci -vv
