Eudora error message: "Table of Contents of mailbox X was change and is out of date."

Eudora keeps complaining about "Table of Contents of mailbox X was change and is out of date." and even if you just rebuild and reload Eudora, it still says it again.

First, make sure your clock and the server's clock are the same. Try doing net time. If it displays a timezone other than your own (remember, DST adds 1 hour to the timezone!) you have to take that into account. Eudora seems to compare the dates of the MBX and TOC files. If either is different, it asks to rebuild.

Next, do touch *.mbx *.toc - that'll make all the dates identicle.
